EUFOREA Comment to Cost-Effectiveness Analysis of Inferior Turbinate Reduction and Immunotherapy in Allergic Rhinitis

Following the article by Yong et al.1 article on August 2023, the EUFOREA Expert Panel on allergic rhinitis has read it with interest and had concerns about its conclusions. Although some patients were classified as non-responders, no consideration was given to the specific cause. Associated comorbidities, such as concomitant non-allergic rhinitis, may be relevant. None of the therapeutic interventions used treat or alleviate these. EUFOREA has addressed these issues in its Pocket Guides to Allergic Rhinitis. Our recommendation is to investigate associated comorbidities and reconsider the primary diagnosis before increasing the complexity of therapy.
